Vacancy for Research Fellow and Post-Doctoral Fellow.

Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) under the Ministry of Planning is inviting applications from bonafide Bangladeshi nationals for the post of Research Fellow and Post-Doctoral Fellow.

The candidate should have a Ph.D. degree, two years of research/ teaching experience excluding the period spent in the Ph.D. program, and two journal publications (of BDS standard)*.


Post-Doctoral Fellow 
(for a fixed period of up to 3 (three) years.

with admissible allowances.
The candidate must have a recent Ph.D. degree in economics/social science or a related field from a reputed university. R elevant post-doctoral experience would be preferred but not essential. S/he must be able to initiate and carry out high quality research independently. 

* BDS means Bangladesh Development Studies, which is a quarterly journal published by the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies.

 

The candidates for RF are expected to have a background in economics, development studies, sociology, anthropology, population studies or a related field. The candidates having experience in Agricultural Economics, Demography, Population Science and Macroeconomics will be given preference. Ph.D. requirement can be relaxed for otherwise excellent candidates. Candidates with single-authored or lead-authored publications (of BDS standard) will be given preference.

Applicants are not required to send publications or certificates electronically or by post at this stage. An electronically generated acknowledgment receipt of the application will be sent to the applicant. If the applicant does not receive it in two days, it may be sent directly by post to the Secretary, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies, E-17, Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka-1207.

 

Candidates already in service should apply through the proper channel.
