Vacancy for Research Fellow and Post-Doctoral Fellow.


Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) under the ministry of Planning is inviting applications from bona fied Bangladeshi nationals for the post of Research Fellow and Post-Doctoral Fellow.

Research Fellow (RF)
NPS 2015 Tk. 35500-67010/-
with admissible allowances.
The candidate should have a Ph.D degree, two years of teaching/research experience excluding the period spent in Ph.D. program and two journal publications (of BDS standard)*. Ph.D requirement can be relaxed for otherwise excellent candidates.  


Post-Doctoral Fellow (for a fixed period of up to 3 (three) years.NPS 2015 Tk. 35500-67010/- with admissible allowances.
The candidate must have a recent Ph.D degree in economics/social science or a related field and relevant post-doctoral experience would be preferred but not essential. He/she must be able to initiate and carry out high quality research independently.


* BDS means Bangladesh Development Studies, which is a quarterly journal published by the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies.

The candidates for RF are expected to have a background in economics, development studies, sociology, anthropology, population studies or a related field. BIDS is particularly looking for people with a background or expertise in macro, trade, demography, industrial organization and political economy.

An electronically generated acknowledgement receipt of the application will be sent to the applicant. If the applicant does not receive it in two days, it may be sent directly by post to the Secretary, Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS), E-17, Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka-1207.

Candidates already in service should apply through proper channel.
