Dr. K.A.S Murshid, Director General of BIDS attended a conference titled the “Belt and Road Global Think Tank Forum” on 14-15 May, 2017 in Beijing, China. The president of the People's Republic of China Mr. Xi Jinping inaugurated the conference and presented the keynote remarks.

The forum focused on different areas such as policy coordination, connectivity, unimpeded trade, financial integration, people to people bond and think tank exchange. The forum also considered ways to address problems facing global and regional economy, creating fresh initiatives for pursuing interrelated development and making the Belt and Road Initiative bring greater benefits to the people of all countries.
