BIDS and Bonik Barta organized a colourful reception in the city on 19 December, 2015 to honour two eminent economists of the country, Dr. Mohammad Farashuddin and Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, both former Governors of the Bangladesh Bank with a distinguished record of service to the community and the nation. The event was attended by people from all walks of life, including intellectuals, ministers, MPs, businessmen, bankers and ordinary citizens. Two entrepreneurs, namely, Mohammad Abul Mia and Biplob Chakma were also selected by BIDS and Bonik Barta for their innovative ideas and successful business models and given due recognition and encouragement in the award-giving ceremony.
