Obituary

BIDS mourns the death of Dr. Monowar Hossain, Acting Chairman, BIDS (1975-83) who passed away in Dhaka on 4 March, 2020 due to old age complications. He was a brilliant scholar, a PhD from the London School of Economics, and a deeply committed researcher. Before joining BIDS, he was Head of the Department of Statistics at the University of Dhaka.
